** cancelled** November Monthly Meeting – chance of severe weather event

Council has reluctantly decided to cancel the OGM scheduled for 1st November because of the high chance of very severe weather events, as predicted by the Bureau of Meteorology.

One of the factors taken into account is that, if severe storms occur tomorrow afternoon, they could well develop near the time of the start of the OGM, which would prevent any timely advice to members on the status of the meeting.

Peter Culshaw’s presentation on William Lassell and Triton, which we have all been looking foward to, will be rescheduled to a future meeting.

Our meetings include brief business, a main presentation and items of astronomical news or learning from members.

The November Main Item will be a talk by Peter Culshaw on William Lassell and Triton.
