March Meeting cancelled due to risks around the impending cyclone Alfred

Fellow AAQ members and anyone planning to join us:  it is with great regret, and after consultation with the AAQ management committee, that I have decided to cancel the 8th March meeting because of the impending cyclone.

UQ, along with the other Brisbane universities, has closed its campus until further notice and will not be open on Saturday, so we could not have a face-to-face meeting in any case.

Given the predictions that a significant number of properties will lose power and with many thousands of properties potentially being flooded, it seems the safest and most prudent course of action to cancel the meeting altogether. We are contacting our speaker and will try to see if he can speak at a future meeting.
