April Meeting – The Murrili Meteorite and Desert Fireball Network

Our meetings include brief business, a main presentation and items of astronomical news or activities from members.

The April Main Item will be: The Murrili Meteorite and Desert Fireball Network by Grant Salmond. This talk will cover part of the story behind the discovery of the first meteorite to be tracked and found by the Desert Fireball Network of cameras. Named the Murrili meteorite, it now holds a special place in Australian meteorite history. I will also explain future plans for the Gondwana Stars Observatory to participate in the Fireball network of cameras and contribute to citizen science efforts in astronomy.

The April 2025 meeting is planned to be a face-to-face meeting; attendees can also join in online via Zoom. Details emailed to members. Guests/visitors can contact us for Zoom details at .
